Kean Stage Welcomes Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India Tonight

Kean Stage will welcome The Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India to Kean University's Wilkins Theatre tonight, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. for a highly anticipated performance of Spirit of India.

Billed as "a lively musical journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai," the show stars artistic director Rahis Bharti and features a cast of seventeen professional artists, including a brass band, acoustic musicians, singers, dancers, acrobats, and a fire eater. A seamless blend of live music and dance, Spirit of India incorporates Indian and Western instruments, including bass drums, side drums, trombone, tabla, dholak, harmonium, and clarinet.

"Kean Stage is committed to presenting world-class entertainment that appeals not only to the Kean University family, but to the community at large," stated Heather Kelley, Director of Audience Services for Kean's Theatre and Programming Office. "With significant Indian populations in Union, Middlesex, Essex, and Hudson counties, we saw an opportunity to present a program that celebrates the vibrant culture of some of our closest neighbors."

Standard admission to Spirit of India is $35.00, with $20.00 tickets available for children, students, and senior citizens. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, located in Kean University's Wilkins Theatre at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union. The box office is open Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as one hour before any scheduled performance.
