CAMBRIDGE, MA - José Mateo Ballet Theatre celebrates its 30th Anniversary with a groundbreaking season filled with original ballets by New England's celebrated dance-maker Artistic Director/Founder José Mateo. Rumblings (tonight, October 9-25) opens the season with thrilling suspense and drama, perfectly suited to get you into the spirit of the Halloween season.

Rumblings (October 9-25, 2015, press night Oct. 16)

Features Isle of the Dead (1993) set to Sergei Rachmaninoff's score of the same name. A compelling drama that eloquently speaks of the hope that prevails in the face of devastation, Isle of the Dead is the inspiration behind David Kasman's glorious sculpture that graces the entrance to The Sanctuary Theatre, now one of the most photographed landmarks in Harvard Square. Circles (2010), set to Alfred Schnittke's Concerto for Piano and Strings, explores the unrestrained psycho-emotional stress of personal interdependency. A ballet thriller, Covens(2005) set to James MacMillan's Symphony No. 3 is a haunting tale about love and deception amidst the hysteria of a witch hunt.
