Intimations Dance will install new dance work at Aeronaut Brewing Company, a craft brewery and foods hub in Somerville, MA, for an evening of performance to celebrate the culmination of Boston's National Choreography Month. Several creative collaborators join Intimations Dance for the brewery takeover: local dance company Paradise Lost; independent choreographers Michael Figueroa, Sarah Mae Gibbons, and Wisty Andres; a cohort of live musicians from Berklee College of Music; and VJs and local DJ Univer-AL. The performance takes place tonight, January 31, 2015, 6 pm-12 am.

Located in what The Boston Globe deems "Innovation Row," Aeronaut Brewing Company offers a regular schedule of music and theater performances, trivia, film screenings, and other community events in conjunction with the brewery. "We're thrilled to offer our space for this kind of creative, unique event," says Aeronaut's Community Coordinator, Liz Pratt. "The Somerville community has offered us so much support this year; we're glad to welcome everyone to share this space with us."

Intimations Dance and independent choreographers begin the takeover at 6 pm with a series of simultaneous contemporary dance solos, duets, and trios in varied spaces throughout the brewery. Local musicians Sue Buzzard on violin, Blain Crawford on bass, Juan Dhas on guitar, Victor Hernandez on drums, and Sean Peters on trumpet accompany the dancers in unexpected spaces throughout the taproom and foods hub. Alex Ezorsky of Awespark Productions will provide live VJ projection work in the taproom so that audiences can view the performers on the big screen. Paradise Lost performs new dance work at 8 pm in the spirit of childhood nostalgia, involving the audience in an immersive dance-theatre experience. DJ Univers-AL closes out the night by building community beat by beat, and playing music for every moment.

"I believe dance is a part of everyday life, and want to bring dance to the places where people already are," says Jessica Muise, Artistic Director of Intimations Dance and co-coordinator for the takeover event.
