Houston Ballet Welcomes New Chief of Development Angie Lane

Houston Ballet has announced that Angela Lane has joined its senior management team as Chief Development Officer. Ms. Lane will be responsible for developing comprehensive strategic fundraising plans and overseeing the development department at the company.

A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Ms. Lane brings fifteen years of experience in development at several prestigious companies. From 2008 to 2014, she served as Director of Development at Houston Grand Opera. From 1999 to 2008, she worked at American National Red Cross, rising to the position of Director of Development. She also serves as an instructor at Rice University's Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.

Her experience is enhanced by her Master of Arts degree in Public Relations, Master of Arts degree in Philanthropy, Bachelors of Arts in Political Science, and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of such a vibrant and prestigious performing arts company: one that produces the highest quality of art, develops the next generation of great dancers, ensures that anyone can access this beautiful art form, and does so with such financial responsibility" commented Ms. Lane.

"I'm eager to get to know many of those who make Houston Ballet such a remarkable force in Houston, from the dancers and choreographers to my administrative colleagues, to the community of supporters who fuel its success."

"I am so pleased to have such an intelligent and accomplished development professional join our team to help take us to the next level in fundraising," commented Houston Ballet Executive Director James Nelson on Ms. Lane's appointment.
