Flamenco Passion Gala Set for North Shore Center as Part of American Spanish Dance & Music Festival, 6/20-23

Chicago's unique contribution to the elegance and passion of Spain's dance, music and culture is showcased in Ensemble Español's 38th American Spanish Dance & Music Festival, Wednesday, June 11 through Sunday, June 22. Three crowd-pleasing, live music and dance Flamenco Passion Gala performances will cap the festival at The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie (9501 Skokie Blvd.) Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 23 at 3 p.m.

The performances will feature the world premiere of "Mil Clavos" (One Thousand Nails), a new, full company, Spanish contemporary ballet suite in three movements, created by award-winning choreographer and former Ensemble Español and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago company dancer Ron De Jes?s in collaboration with Ensemble Español, to honor of Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre and founder Dame Libby Komaiko. The Flamenco Passion Gala performances are part of Ensemble Español's 38th American Spanish Dance & Music Festival, Wednesday, June 11 through Sunday, June 22.
