Diablo Ballet continues its 2012-13 touring season at the historic Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City, with the company's popular Inside the Dancer's Studio series, featuring the final performance of the acclaimed Web Ballet, the first dance work created via the internet, tonight, April 12th at 8 PM and Saturday, April 13 at 8 PM. For tickets and information, call Hillbarn Theatre at (650)349-6411 or visit www.HillbarnTheatre.org.

Four works will be presented as part of the two- night only program, with live music under the direction of Greg Sudmeier, Diablo Ballet's Music Director:

The performance will begin with the Peninsula premiere of The Blue Boy by Trey McIntyre, one of today's most renowned choreographers. Inspired by the famous Gainsborough painting of the same name, McIntyre uses the second movement of Beethoven's first piano concerto for this dance for three.

The program continues with an encore presentation of La Covacha by Diablo Ballet dancer and native Venezuelan, David Fonnegra, who turns up the Latin heat with a sizzling mix of South American and contemporary dance performed to live music.

Following La Covacha will be the Peninsula premiere of Sinuosity, a breathtaking pas de deux based on the music of recording artist Enya, choreographed by Sean Kelly, former principal of Houston Ballet.

Diablo Ballet will close the evening with an encore presentation of The Flight of the Dodo- the Web Ballet, the first dance work ever created by social media crowdsourcing. Diablo Ballet dancer Robert Dekkers incorporated suggestions from the company's Twitter and Facebook pages to create this thrilling work.

Diablo Ballet's Inside the Dancer's Studio brings audiences up-close to the power of dance. The series combines a fully costumed dance presentation performed to live music and audience participation in an intimate theater setting. Patrons have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the dancers, choreographers, musicians and artistic staff, moderated by Lee Foster, Executive Director of Diablo Ballet and Hillbarn Theatre. Following the performance is an exclusive complimentary food and wine reception, where patrons can meet the artists.

For 19 years, Diablo Ballet has been one of the San Francisco Bay Area leading dance companies. Featuring a repertoire of classical and contemporary dance works, the Company also has been recognized for it's groundbreaking work in youth education in under-served Bay Area counties.

Individual tickets for Inside the Dancer's Studio are Adults $45, Youth $18. For tickets and information, visit www.HillbarnTheatre.org or 650.349.6411, extension 2.
