Ballet Idaho is poised for an extraordinary winter repertory, Sinatra and More - a quadruple bill including Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs, George Balanchine's Vasle Fantaisie, Peter Anastos' Ravel Piano Concerto, and Alex Ossadnik's Scheherazade.

The company will stage two performances on February 19 and 20 at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, presented by Nine Sinatra Songs performance sponsors, C.K Haun and Karen Meyer, Randy Anderson/UBS Groups, Howard and Dottie Goldman, and Valse Fantaisie performance sponsors, John and Joan Carley.

Single tickets start at $38 and are available now through the Ballet Idaho website and Morrison Center box office. Headlining this eclectic bill is Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs, choreographed in 1982 to the incredible voice and timeless songs of Frank Sinatra. A mix of ballet, modern dance, and ballroom, Nine Sinatra Songs makes its Idaho debut after being embraced by audiences and companies worldwide.

Also on the program is Balanchine's Valse Fantaisie, courtesy of The George Balanchine Trust. Attended by a male dancer, the ballerinas move together in a whirl of perpetual motion. The music, roughly contemporaneous with the waltzes of Frederic Chopin, is fast and light, although it was popularly called "the Melancholy Waltz."

Rounding out this exciting production is Peter Anastos' Ravel Piano Concerto and Alex Ossadnik's Scheherezade. The 1930's jazz-inspired Ravel Piano Concerto accompanies a fast-paced, witty and beautiful ballet - a sleek and elegant classic ballet full of energy and drive. Scheherazade, one of the glories of symphonic music, is based on the 1,001 Arabian Night's tales is back and by popular demand.

Performances take place on Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20, 2016. Single tickets to Sinatra and More may be purchased by calling 208.426.1110 or by going online at www.BalletIdaho.org/performances. All performances take place at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, Boise ID.
