Jabbawockeez is a hip hop dance troupe that came to Las Vegas after winning season 1 of America's Best Dance Crew on MTV. They followed that 2008 victory with commercials, concert concert performances, a tour of Australia and, in May, 2010 debuted in Las Vegas at the MGM's Hollywood Theatre. Their run there was extended and they next moved to the Monte Carlo, played in a Queensland, Australia casino and, in May, 2013, opened their new show, Prism, in a new 850-seat theater in the Luxor. They celebrated the show's first anniversary last Thursday night. Wearing white masks and gloves that hide their individual identities they keep the audience riveted with a show that is so creatively presented that you know if you look away for even a moment, you're liable to miss something very interesting....and lots of fun, too.

Directors Napoleon and Tabitha D'umo help us distinguish one dancer from another by using color. In fact, "Roy G Biv," is a part of the show. That is the mnemonic device to assist people in remembering the colors of the spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

They employ a mix of music, from 2 Chainz to Marvin Gay to James Brown. The transitions from one scene to another are seamless and very interesting.

I know this is a show designed from people ages 20 to 30, but I believe people of every age will have a ball at Jabbawockeez.

Jabbawockeez Prism runs 7 p.m. Thursday, Sunday and Monday; 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday 7 pm and 9:30 pm. at the Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The show is dark Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tickets are $60.50-$90.14, including LET. VIP tickets, including a meet-and-greet, are $150. Service fee additional. Available online at www.luxor.com or by phone 702-262-4400.
