BWW Previews: ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER at NJ PAC, 5/10-11

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJ PAC) will present the Alvin Ailey Dance American Dance Theater on Saturday, May 10th at 8:00 pm and Sunday May 11th at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The company returns to the center's Prudential Hall for their annual spring season in Newark. Metropolitan area audiences should not miss this opportunity to see the bold and beautiful works of this multi-talented company.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance. The Ailey Company has gone on to perform for an estimated 25 million people at theaters in 48 states and 71 countries on six continents, as well as millions more through television broadcasts.

NJ PAC audiences can experience the amazing repertory of this beloved American dance company on Mother's Day weekend. The programs are planned to include the dance pieces Lift, The River, Night Creature and Revelations. This is a remarkable opportunity to enjoy the works of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
