Atlantic City Ballet celebrates the beginning of spring with 3 ballets that are making their premier in AC. American Songbook is a salute to three American composers, each with its unique perspective and interpretation on American life. The three ballets on the program represent the most well-known music of these composers and represent a slice of American life.

Mountain Legend with music by Aaron Copland was an American composer, teacher, writer, and in his later years was often referred to as "the Dean of American Composers. The open, slowly changing harmonies of many of his works are what many people consider to be the sound of American music, evoking the vast American landscape and pioneer spirit. This ballet captures the flavor of life in a rural American town in the 1930's.

Clearwater with music by John Denver was an American singer-songwriter, actor, activist and humanitarian. Starting in the 1970s he sang about his joy in nature, his enthusiasm for music, and his relationship trials. This ballet with American Indian overtones pays tribute to Mr. Denver's most recognizable hits.

Stars Forever with music by John Philip Sousa was a composer and conductor of the late Romantic era, known primarily for American military and patriotic marches. Because of his mastery of march composition, he is known as "The March King" or the "American March King". This ballet is a spirited rendition of the marches we all have come to love.
