After more than a decade of anticipation and renovations, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company finds its way back to the very block where they were founded over forty years ago. To celebrate their return this one-night-only affair includes live music and dance. On July 30th, 2016 at 8:00 PM, the night begins with a performance lineup at the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance in the East Village, and then moves to their new dance studio on East 4th Street for a reception. Artistic Director and Choreographer, Enrique Cruz DeJesus, showcases his work this evening with a range of dances from the abstract to the dramatic for which the company is known.

The program includes excerpts of repertory favorite Crossroads to Hathaway accompanied by the live elegantly funky sounds of Ty Stephens and the SoulJaazz band. Tango Entre Tú y Yo, a strong-sexy-sleek dance for four women follows. Set in a café, the music is the Go Tang Project and the dance is a mix of Tango influences with contemporary modern and jazz. Completing the program is a re-work of the fun good-natured ode to the Big Bang Theory, Evolution is at play. In this theoretical version particles of the universe are about to collide, but before they do and before the beginning of time, elements tease, matter expands, and enticing gasses evolve.

The performance begins at 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at Peridance's Salvatore Capezio Theater. Performance Tickets are $25, while Performance and Gala Reception Tickets are $35. You may purchase at alphaomegadance.bpt.me. Keep in mind that the Gala Reception will take place at our brand new space, 70 East 4th Street! Come celebrate with us as we dance and listen to music all night long.

Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company was founded in 1972 and has enjoyed an extensive history of programming and performances for local, as well as, regional and national audiences. They were founded on East 4th Street, just across the street from their brand new dance home at 70 East 4th Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Now part of the only cultural arts district in NY designated by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2006, they are the co-owners of the completely renovated building that features their 1100 square foot dance studio and performance space. After being displaced for several years, the organization and troupe return to the block to offer the community at large classes in dance, fitness and wellness, a platform for art-making, in addition to performances.
