After being workshopped at The Flea Theatre, The Other Broadway Is proud to present Land of Broken Toys, a play with music, at the 19th annual New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC.

Written and directed by Yasmine Lever, Land of Broken Toys is billed as follows: "Welcome to a world where new connections are forged in seconds. But can we overcome old wounds before the bell rings? Love, sex, betrayal, new beginnings. A disparate group of misfits struggle to emerge from the wreckage of their lives." The play features music by Or Matias and choreography by Rebecca Hidalgo.

The cast is set to include Mazin Akar ("Homeland", "Jessica Jones"), Christina Toth ("Boardwalk Empire"), Sydney Farley, Bryan Hamilton, Sky Lakota Lynch, and Gabby Perez.

The 19th Annual New York International Fringe Festival runs from August 14th - 30th, 2015. Performances of Land of Broken Toys are SAT 8/15 @ 9:30; TUE 8/18 @ 4:30; FRI 8/21 @ 4:30; SAT 8/22 @ 2:15 and TUE 8/25 @ 9 and will be held at VENUE #2: Flamboyan Theatre at the Clemente, 107 Suffolk St. (Between Rivington & Delancey).

YASMINE LEVER (Playwright/Director): Yasmine is an award-winning writer of plays, lyrics, prose, and journalism. She conceived and wrote the book and lyrics to Crush with music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, (Passing Strange). Crush has been workshopped at The Arcola Theater, (London) University Of The Arts (Philadelphia) And New York University. Her full-length play Next Stop Anywhere was part of The Midtown International Theater Festival 2013. Her short plays have been performed in festivals all over London and New York including Old Vic New Voices, Theater 503, Pensive Federation, and The Flea among others. Her short musicals and songs have been performed at The Signature Theater, Prospect Theater Company, The Cutting Room, The Metropolitan Room, The Duplex and The D lounge among others. She was a featured songwriter in the concert series Broadway's Future at Lincoln Center. New York Theater Barn's New Works series and New York Musical Theater Festival's Explorer series. She was invited to be part of the The Arcola Lab The Musical Theater Initiative at Stratford East (London), and The Critical Mass BME Playwriting Initiative at The Belgrade Theater with Ola Animashamwum. Founder of The Young Writers Program at The Royal Court. Her play Monsters received a workshop at The Leicester Square Theater in London's West End. She was a Public Theater Emerging Writer's Program Finalist in New York, and she made the Old Vic new Voices shortlist for a one-year attachment program in London. She has won several short story competitions and one young adult novel completion. As She completed a two-year acting program with William Esper at his studio and she is a member of Equity and Screen Actors Guild. She received her MFA from New York University's Tisch School Of The Arts Graduate Musical Theater writing Program in 2012 and she was selected to be part of Stephen Jeffreys advanced playwriting group at The Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art in London.

Or Matias (Composer) is a composer, pianist, conductor, and actor. He has recently worked with the multi-platinum Trans Siberian Orchestra, violin virtuoso Amadeus Leopold, songstress Rachael Yamagata, and tap dancer Andrew Nemr, to name a few. Since graduating from Juilliard in 2010, Or has been focusing on cross-genre fusions of various styles, including: classical, jazz, rock, hip-hop, and pop, consistently attempting to break the barriers between his musical passions. Fully immersed in the NY music and theater world, Or is currently playing the role of Sergei Rachmaninoff in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Preludes. He recently served as Music Director and conductor of the highly acclaimed pop-opera Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, and orchestrated the world premiere production of Nickel Mines. Upcoming productions include world premieres by Michael John LaChiusa and Anaïs Mitchell. Or is currently writing book, music, and lyrics for a new musical adaptation of The Wave, the true 1967 experiment which turned an entire school into a fascist movement in just five days. In addition to his degree from Juilliard, Or also holds a Masters of Fine Arts from NYU, where he received a Dean's Fellowship, and full scholarship for his studies. REBECCA HIDALGO (Choreographer/Assistant Director) is a recent graduate from the Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she wrote, directed, choreographed and starred in her thesis piece entitled Chivas 18: A Multimedia Dance-Theatre Piece. Other recent original choreography/theatre projects she has worked on include Of Cake and Vanity (dir. José Rivera Jr.), and Camp Who (Bonnaroo '14). She can also be seen in the upcoming web series Fountain and Never (dir. Antonio Macia). Her other bodies of work include original music (singing/songwriting) and filmmaking.
