The HBO comedy CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, starring Larry David last aired on the cable channel back in 2011. During its time on the air, the series received 39 Emmy Award nominations.

With the ending of his limited run original Broadway play FISH IN THE DARK last week, David finds himself with some free time on his hands, and according to his 'Curb' co-star Jeff Garlin, there's a "51% chance" he will return to writing all-new episodes of the hit comedy.

Garlin, who portrayed David's fictional entertainment manager Jeff Greene, shared his thoughts about the future of the show at yesterday's TCA press tour.

"I'd say a decent chance. Not good, not bad, decent," Garlin commented to reporters. "[It's] the only show that I know in the history of television that only moves forward because the creator is basing his decision entirely on creativity."

He continued: "[He's so] rich that he doesn't have to do anything unless it's good. He doesn't want to embarrass himself. It's pretty pure."

As BWW reported last month, HBO President of Programming Michael Lombardo shared a conversation with reporters that he had with David just prior to the premiere of FISH IN THE DARK. During the meeting, David took out a notebook and asked Lombardo, "Do you know what this is? This is the 'next season' notebook."

Lombardo went on to share, "I don't think it's out of his system. When he has something to say, he will come back. I certainly see this as a continuing dialogue with him - a long one, but a continuing one."

Curb Your Enthusiasm starred 'Seinfeld' co-creator Larry David as himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. Shot in a verite style and featuring celebrities playing themselves, the episodes were improvised by the actors from an outline created by David. The series also starred Cheryl Hines as David's wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as David's manager Jeff and Susie Essman as Jeff's wife Susie.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was nominated for four Emmys® in 2008, including Outstanding Comedy Series. It won the Golden Globe in the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category in 2002. In 2003, Robert B. Weide won a directing Emmys® for his work on the series. The series has also received awards from the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Banff Television Festival, American Film Institute and Monte Carlo Television Festival, among others.
