StandOut Productions and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center present a one-night-only evening of stand-up comedy with Vickie Shaw at the Center's Renberg Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. In addition to general admission tickets, VIP tickets are available that include preferred seating and a post-show reception with Ms. Shaw.

Texas native Vickie Shaw is one of today's hottest lesbian comics. She has performed in almost every state in the U.S. and has headlined in various venues, including Michigan Womyn's Festival, National Women's Music Festival, Monterrey Beach Women's Festival, and the Dinah Shore Weekend, cracking up audiences with Southern lesbian quips and hilarious family stories that focus on coming out, marriage and motherhood.

As a mother of three and grandmother of one, Vickie was the poster girl for the traditional family-until she came out as a lesbian, ended her marriage and began performing as a stand-up comic. Shaw, who grew up in a conservative Southern Baptist family, first tried stand-up at an open mic night after 18 years of marriage and was hooked. Since then, she's taken her humor to TV, stand-up venues, women's festivals and Olivia cruises, performing to sold-out shows.

Shaw can be seen in the award-winning film Laughing Matters...More, along with her own standup comedy special, You Can Take the Girl Outta Texas..., currently airing on MTV's LOGO Network and available on DVD. She has been featured on COMEDY CENTRAL's Premium Blend, WE Network's "The Secret Lives of Women: Late-in-Life Lesbians," and LOGO's Wisecrack comedy series.
