Vicki L. Zeiger to Serve as Board Chair at The Old Globe

The Old Globe's Annual Meeting was held on Monday, February 1, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. After a reception in the Jane and Victor Ottenstein Lobby, outgoing Old Globe Board Chair Elaine Bennett Darwin welcomed the Board of Directors and guests and announced the newly elected Board and Executive Committee members, including her successor as Board Chair, Vicki L. Zeiger.

Managing Director Michael G. Murphy gave an update on the Globe's financial position and presented highlights of the 2015 fiscal year, and Artistic Director Barry Edelstein spoke about the artistic future of the Globe and its place in the San Diego community as the theatre launches its exciting new Department of Arts Engagement. The meeting was followed by a reception for the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Founders Level Donors in Hattox Hall in the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

It was announced that the 2016 Board of Directors' Executive Committee will consist of Zeiger (Chair), Darwin (Immediate Past Chair), Peter J. Cooper (Vice Chair, Arts Engagement), Ann Davies (Vice Chair, Nominating), Anthony S. Thornley (Treasurer), Harvey P. White (Secretary; Past Chair, Ex Officio), Nicole A. Clay, Donald L. Cohn (Past Chair, Ex Officio), Stephen P. Embry, Pamela A. Farr, Harold W. Fuson, Jr. (Past Chair, Ex Officio), Kathryn Hattox (Past Chair, Ex Officio), Paula Powers, Conrad Prebys, Ann Steck, and Karin Winner.

Darwin also announced that the following candidates identified by the Globe's Nominating Committee were formally elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors: Terry Atkinson, Stephanie R. Bulger, Ph.D., George S. Davis, Thomas Melody, David Jay Ohanian, Gloria Rasmussen, Sue Sanderson, Dean H. Thompson, and Reneé Wailes. Current Board members who will begin new consecutive three-year terms in 2016 include Mary Beth Adderley, Peter J. Cooper, Ann Davies, Stephen P. Embry, Victor P. Gálvez, Jo Ann Kilty, Crystal Sargent, Rhona Thompson, Anthony S. Thornley, Stacey LeVasseur Vasquez, and Jordine Von Wantoch.

Board members Marla Black, Elizabeth Dewberry, Ramin Pourteymour, Tim Rafalovich, Adam Ratner, Marguerite Sargis (Immediate Past Globe Guilders President, Ex Officio), and Daniel L. Sullivan, Ph.D., whose terms of service concluded at the end of 2015, were honored for their outstanding commitment to The Old Globe. Sargis, who passed away in October, was also celebrated for her longtime commitment to the Globe Guilders, the auxiliary group that has generously given time and financial support to The Old Globe for the past 60 years.

The Old Globe's Board of Directors also includes Elizabeth Altman, Pamela Cesak, Joseph J. Cohn, Valerie S. Cooper, Angela DeCaro (Globe Guilders President, Ex Officio), Silvija Devine, Karen Fox, Old Globe Associate Artist Robert Foxworth, Jack Galloway, Patricia A. Hodgkin, Daphne H. Jameson, Sheila Lipinsky, Keven Lippert, Sandra Redman, Jean Shekhter, Steven J. Stuckey, Karen Tanz, Evelyn Mack Truitt, Debra Turner, Pamela J. Wagner, and Lynne Wheeler.

The Tony Award-winning Old Globe is one of the country's leading professional regional theatres and has stood as San Diego's flagship arts institution for over 80 years. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and Managing Director Michael G.
