UPDATE: NY Health Officials to Review Outpatient Clinic Where Joan Rivers Had Procedure

As friends, family and fans await hopeful news regarding the health condition of legendary comedian Joan Rivers, TMZ reports that NY health officials have contacted Yorkville Endoscopy, the outpatient clinic where Rivers' procedure to repair her vocal cords resulted in respiratory and cardiac arrest, in order to REVIEW the case.

State health officials told the site they are "reviewing the matter" but have not begun an official investigation. It was also revealed that the REVIEW "could take weeks or even months" and that as of now, "officials are only looking at the clinic as a whole -- not specifically the DOCTOR WHO performed the procedure."

Yesterday, Rivers' daughter Melissa revealed that her mother had been moved out of intensive care and into a private room. "My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support," read her statement.

Rivers stopped breathing while undergoing a minor throat procedure on Aug. 28 in New York City. She was then rushed to the hospital where she was placed in the medically induced coma. Rivers had performed a comedy show at a Times Square theater Wednesday night and was reportedly in good health when she went to the clinic for the procedure.
