Virginia's Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Kid Victory, a new musical from legendary composer John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret) and acclaimed playwright Greg Pierce (Slowgirl). 12) STAGE TUBE: On This Day for 3/1/15- GUYS AND DOLLS

Today in 2009, Guys and Dolls opened at the Nederlander Theatre, where it ran for 121 performances. Guys and Dolls is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown' and 'Blood Pressure', two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, most notably 'Pick the Winner'. Premiering on Broadway in 1950, the original production ran for 1200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical has had several Broadway revivals as well as West End productions. (more...)

16) Photo Flash: Broadway Serves Hosts 3rd KIDS SERVE Event Benefitting Urban Pathways

On Saturday, February 28th, Broadway Serves hosted its third Kids Serve event. Taking place at the Minskoff Theater, over 30 children from the NY theater community attended. The kids donated toiletry items and created toiletry bags to be given to Urban Pathways, a not-for-profit, social service and supportive housing organization serving homeless adults in the NY Metropolitan Area. Kids Serve performers hailed from shows like Matilda, The Lion King, Les Miserable, Kinky Boots, Iowa, Radio City, and the tours of Shrek, Once, and The Lion King.
