A veteran cast of Broadway's best brings this fairytale's most beloved characters to life on stage! In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, it's a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. Come fall in love with the magic for the first time-or all over again with classics such as "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl, "Part of Your World" and more!

Howard Ashman (Lyrics) wrote the lyrics for the Disney animated films The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin (3 songs). He served as producer on The Little Mermaid and executive producer on Beauty and the Beast. With composer Alan Menken, he received two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes for Best Song ("Beauty and the Beast" and "Under the Sea") and four Grammy Awards. He received an Academy Award nomination with Mr. Menken for "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. As author, lyricist and director for the stage musical Little Shop of Horrors, which ran for five years in New York and was produced worldwide, Mr. Ashman received two Outer Critics Circle Awards, a New York Drama Critics Circle Award, a London Evening Standard Award and a Drama Desk Award. For his screenplay version of Little Shop of Horrors, Mr. Ashman received a nomination from the Screen Writers Guild and "Mean Green Mother from Outer Space" was nominated (with Mr. Menken) for an Academy Award for Best Song. He was author, lyricist and director of Smile for which he received a Tony nomination for Best Book. Doug Wright (Book) is a Pulitzer Prize-winner and has received a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, GLAAD Media Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Drama League Award and a Lucille Lortel Award for I Am My Own Wife, which premiered at Playwrights Horizon in 2003. For Grey Gardens, he was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Book of a Musical. In 1995, Wright won an Obie Award for his play Quills, his screen adaptation was named Best Picture by the National Board of Review and nominated for three Academy Awards. Wright was cited by the American Academy of Arts and Letters and awarded the Tolerance Prize from the KulturForum Europa. Plays include The Stonewater Rapture, Interrogating the Nude, Unwrap Your Candy, Grey Gardens, The Little Mermaid and The Pavilion. Currently, he serves on the board of the New York Theatre Workshop and is a member of the Dramatists Guild Council.
Victoria Theatre Association is one of Dayton's premier arts organizations, presenting the Premier Health Broadway Series, the Morris Furniture Company Family Series, the Cool Films Series, Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, National Geographic Live Series, and The Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series, which features curriculum-enhanced live theatre productions for school children.
