The Theater People Podcast Chats with BANDSTAND's Laura Osnes and THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG's Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer

On Monday, July 10, the Theater People podcast welcomes two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes and Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG.

For the first part of the episode, host Patrick Hinds chats with Osnes (who is making her fourth appearance on Theater People) about her work in BANDSTAND. Osnes, who has been with the show since it's very first reading, shares stories about how the show has developed, why she turned down other roles to stay with the piece, and a personal family story about why she feels so connected to the role.

In the second half of the show, Lewis and Sayer share the amazing story of how THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG developed from a one-act being performed in a 60-seat theater above a pub to the Olivier Award winning West End hit and Broadway favorite.

Laura Osnes made her Broadway debut in 2007 as Sandy in the Broadway revival of GREASE. She went on to star in the Broadway productions of SOUTH PACIFIC, and ANYTHING GOES. In 2011 she originated the role of Bonnie Parker in Frank Wildhorn's BONNIE AND CLYDE (Tony nomination.). In 2013 she earned her second Tony nomination for playing the title role in ROGER + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA.

Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer are both making their Broadway debuts in THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG. THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG won the 2015 Sir Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and was nominated for a 2017 Tony Award for best scenic design of a play.
