The Second City Training Centre Toronto is proud to announce the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today, July 30 to celebrate the major facility expansion to the third floor of 99 Blue Jays Way, including the new home for The John Candy Box Theatre.

The Second City Training Centre will host a Ribbon Cutting to unveil the seven sparkling-new multi-media studios and ultra cool lounge areas to current students, notable alumni, and comedy fans. Jennifer Candy, daughter of the legendary Second City alumnus John Candy, will be in attendance to help open the new, state of the art 60-seat John Candy Box Theatre in The Second City Training Centre.

The Second City Training Centre Toronto is the largest school of improv and sketch comedy in the country with an annual enrollment of over 6,000 students. The new, specially-designed centre will be able to accommodate the demand for additional classes in the existing Adult, Youth and Teen programs, as well as brand new classes for all experience levels, including Stagecraft, Public Speaking, Stand Up and Improv for Anxiety. The John Candy Box Theatre will continue to provide performance opportunities to students and emerging artists with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment, and access to a bar and lounge - for the audience of course!
