Theater For The New City presents A Temerity Theatre Company production, "The Addicts," written by Ed Malin and directed by Janet Bentley. The Jewish Supporters of Christ realize they have no black people, and start knocking on different doors. A Minister and a Hebrew-Israelite figure out that they knew, and loved, each other in the past. Meanwhile, Canada becomes a belligerent superpower while the U.S.A. chills out and learns how to love. Why do we make radical life changes, and does anything change?

Ed Malin (Writer) plays include Óscar Tango-Bravo (anthologized in Plays and Playwrights 2015), Film Noix, Judge Yuri & Executioner, American J?taka Tales, The Color Brunette, The Troubadour Struck By Lightning, The Addicts, The Troubadour Struck By Lightning, and Girl=Mass°Anorexia. Generic Magic Realism received a 2013 NY IT Award nomination for Nat Cassidy for Outstanding Solo Performance, and will return in United Solo Festival 2015. Ed's work has been performed at FringeNYC ('97, '05, '06, '09), Frigid New York ('12, '13,'14), manhattantheatresource, etc. Ed edited the Spontaneous Combustion Anthology for manhattantheatresource, has several plays available online from Indie Theater Now, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild. www.temeritytheatre.org

Janet Bentley (Director) holds an MFA in dramaturgy from the University of Iowa. Some New York directing credits include Selling Off Secrets by Joseph Mosso (Planet Connections), Coventry Carol by James McLindon (Emerging Artists Theatre), The Opponent by Wade Savitt (Manhattan Rep), eight short plays for Nylon Fusion Theatre Company's "This Round's On Us" festival, and Weird Around the Baby by Judith Leora for Ego Actus Theatre. Some regional credits include The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh (Surfside Players-Cocoa Beach, FL), As You Like It (Shakespeare in the Park-Titusville, FL), The Knife Trick by Randy Noojin (Attic Theatre-Titusville), and directing Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Attic Theatre). Janet is a freelance director, dramaturg, actor, composer, writer, sound designer, teacher, and a proud member of Nylon Fusion Theatre Company, NYC.
