TONIGHT SHOW Continues Ratings Gains

In its seventh week on the air, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" continued to generate elevated ratings, up versus "Tonight's" results for the same week last year by 46% in adult 18-49 rating. Time-period rivals on ABC and CBS were down versus the year-ago week.

For the week of March 31-April 4, "The Tonight Show" topped CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in adult 18-49 rating by an 87% margin (with a 1.18 rating vs. a 0.63) and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" by 79% (1.18 vs. 0.66). In total viewers, Fallon outdelivered Letterman by 22% (3.829 million vs. 3.148 million) and Kimmel by 46% (3.829 million vs. 2.627 million).

In a week that included the announcement of Letterman's retirement and a Wednesday appearance by former President Bill Clinton on "Kimmel," Fallon's 1.18 rating was up 46% versus the year-ago 0.81 for "Tonight," while "Late Show" declined versus the same week last year by 5% (0.63 vs. 0.66) and "Kimmel" was down by 10% (0.66 vs. 0.73).

And at 12:35 a.m. ET, week six of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" outscored CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in all key ratings measures and also topped ABC's "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour from 12:30-1 a.m. ET in every key category.

In adult 18-49 rating, Meyers beat Ferguson by a 51% margin for the week (with a 0.59 rating vs. a 0.39) and outdelivered "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour by 76% (0.67 vs. 0.38 from 12:30-1 a.m.).
