THE NUTCRACKER, ANNIE and More Slated for The Lyric's 2016-17 Season

The Lyric is proud to continue the tradition of bringing diverse and extraordinary programming to the greater Baltimore area.

This coming season will include highlights such as: The Nutcracker- featuring award winning choreography from Ballet Theatre of Maryland and celebrating the new collaboration of our two organizations, The 20th Anniversary tour of the world- renowned Riverdance, and the classic Tony Award- Winning musical Annie. Along with hilarious comedians, amazingly talented musicians, and children's programming The Lyric will also be featuring the homecoming of two Maryland natives: Mike Rowe and Toni Braxton.

The Nutcracker

Ride the Holiday Express to the most famous destination of all time-The Nutcracker. Battle the Rat Queen and her minions and help Clara rescue her beloved Nutcracker as you share in her magical adventures and the spirit of tradition with your loved ones. Travel once more through the realm of the Snow Queen to the Kingdom of Sweets with Clara and her Prince to the place where dreams come true and holiday spirit abounds. Featuring Concert Artists of Baltimore Orchestra with Artistic Director Edward Polochick and Conductor Michael Repper and new sets that take advantage of the Lyric's vast proscenium, we are excited to bring this Holiday classic to our stage.

Riverdance- The 20th Anniversary Tour

Moya Doherty is proud to announce the international Irish dance phenomenon is back by popular demand with Riverdance - The 20th Anniversary World Tour. The show is composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan. The 20th Anniversary World Tour will feature new costumes, new lighting, new projections and the addition of a brand new number, "Anna Livia," featuring the female members of the Irish dance troupe in an acapella hard-shoe number.

Leapin' Lizards! The world's best-loved musical returns in time-honored form. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin and choreographed by Liza Gennaro, this production of Annie will be a brand new incarnation of the iconic original. Featuring book and score by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie includes such unforgettable songs as "It's the Hard Knock Life," "Easy Street," "I Don't Need Anything But You," plus the eternal anthem of optimism, "Tomorrow."
