Summer of Next Airs on ESPNU for Fourth Consecutive Year

ESPNU's fourth annual Summer of Next Presented by GEICO will begin Saturday, July 2, and continue through the 2016 GEICO ESPN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Kickoff. The series of events, featuring the nation's next generation of elite college athletes, includes the Under Armour All-America Girls' and Boys Lacrosse Game (July 2), The Opening (July 9-10), the NIKE EYBL Peach Jam (July 10), The8 Basketball Tournament (July 21-22), Adidas Uprising Summer Championships (July 24), Adidas Nations (August 1) and the American Legion WORLD SERIES (August 14-16). The GEICO ESPN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Kickoff begins Friday, August 26 and will feature 10 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL games through Sunday, August 28. Summer of Next will cover four different sports over two months, with over 25 games and 70 hours of programming, spotlighting hundreds of student-athletes.

Summer of Next Schedule

Saturday, July 2
Under Armour All-America Lacrosse at Towson University (Towson, Md.)
Girls Game: 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU
Boys Game: 8 p.m. on ESPNU

The 2016 Under Armour All-America rosters are selected by Inside Lacrosse and a selection committee. The top senior high school lacrosse players will face off in North vs. South matchups. The All-America girls' roster is available here, and the All-America boys' roster is available here.

Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10
The Opening at the NIKE World Headquarters (Beaverton, Ore.)
July 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. on ESPNU

The invitation-only camp features the most elite HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL players from across the country. An official roster, featuring numerous ESPN 300 athletes, is available here.

Sunday, July 10
Nike EYBL Peach Jam Championship (North Augusta, S.C.)
2 p.m. on ESPNU

The championship game culminates the twenty-four team tournament, comprised of the top high school basketball players in the nation.

Notable alumni include Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and 2016 NBA DRAFT first overall pick Ben Simmons.

Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22
The8 Basketball Tournament (Las Vegas, Nev.)
July 21 at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., July 22 at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU

This AAU tournament, hosted by NBA All-Star Chris Paul, showcases eight elite travel team programs from across the country. Each team is coached by a current or former NBA player. The semifinals (July 21 at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) and championship game (July 22 at 4:30 p.m.) will be televised on ESPNU.

Sunday, July 24
Adidas Uprising Summer Championships (Las Vegas, Nev.)
4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on ESPNU

This summer basketball tournament is comprised of 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U teams. A showcase game will be televised at 4 p.m., followed by the 17U championship game at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

Monday, August 1
Adidas Nations (Los Angeles, Calif.)
7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on ESPNU

Elevating the world of grassroots basketball, Adidas Nations brings top high school basketball players together from several countries across the world to work with former and current NBA players and coaches. The athletes compete on teams against one another for a chance at the Adidas Nations championship title.

ESPNU will air the showcase game (7 p.m.) and championship at 9 p.m.

Sunday, August 14 - Tuesday, August 16
American Legion WORLD SERIES at Shelby High School's Keeter Stadium (Shelby, N.C.)
August 14 beginning at 1 p.m., August 15 beginning at 4 p.m. and August 16 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU

The American Legion WORLD SERIES culminates on ESPNU, showcasing the top high school players competing with teams from their regions in the summer baseball league. Sunday's lineup will feature games 10, 11 and 12 at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively. The semifinal games will be played at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with the championship game on Tuesday, August 16, at 7 p.m. All games will air on ESPNU.

The first nine games of the series will be carried on ESPN3.

Friday, August 26 - Sunday, August 28
2016 GEICO ESPN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Kickoff

The 2016 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL season commences with a 10-game lineup, creating a weekend full of HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. A complete schedule and details can be found here.
