Sommore will bring her side-splitting comedy back to the Suncoast Showroom July 30 and 31.

For more than 20 years, Sommore has gained an international following with her animated wit and spirited routines. Regarded as one of the most successful comedians in the U.S. and abroad, her presence on the comedy circuit is unmatched.

A native of New Jersey, Sommore began her career in 1994 as the first woman to host BET's "Comic View." In 1995, she was the recipient of the Richard Pryor Award for Comic of the Year. That same year, she went on to host Russell Simmons' "Def Comedy Jam" and later "Showtime at the Apollo." In 2000, she starred as part of the "Queens of Comedy" tour, where she performed in front of a record-breaking audience of more than 50,000 people in Atlanta, Ga. The recording of the show became the longest-running and highest-rated special in the history of Showtime Networks.

Sommore's film credits include roles in "Soul Plane," "Family Reunion" and "Friday After Next." She's made numerous TV appearances as well, including "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" and "Flavor of Love." She also competed on the winning team during season six of "Celebrity Fit Club" and has earned critical acclaim for her stand-up comedy specials "The Queen Stands Alone," "Chandelier Status" and "The Reign Continues."

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from $35 plus tax and fees. Tickets can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.636.7075, or by visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
