Possum Point Players' MOON OVER THE BREWERY Enters Final Stretch

Going into the final weekend, Possum Point Players' production of "Moon Over the Brewery" has met with audience praise and standing ovations. Performances are April 22, 23, 24 and show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. When the cast takes the stage in the Possum Point Players' production of "Moon Over the Brewery," they share the proscenium with some inanimate, but central characters. The feeling-filled comedy features a lovely and colorful handmade quilt by Crystal Sweeney of Delaware Sewing Center. Realizing a great profit or keeping and treasuring the quilt is a decision that faces the mother and daughter portrayed by Audrey Fisher Killen and Abigail Porter.

The "moonscapes" on the set represent the work of the single mother who wears a lighted minor's lamp and only paints at night. In this case, the set pieces, "Moon Over the Hardware Store," "Moon Over the Statue," are actually the work of Chris Polo, wife of Mike Polo who directs "Moon Over the Brewery."

Don Megee portrays a totally unreal and imaginary character who lives in the mind of the brilliant but insecure teenager. He might be imaginary, but he is very often center stage and trying to direct the action. Mike Mahaffie plays a gentle, unassuming postman who loves the moonscape painter and who might be the down to earth answer to banishing the rude imaginary character.
