Photo Coverage: The Tony-Winning FUN HOME Team Gets Immortalized at Sardi's!

FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical, celebrated its first anniversary on Broadway earlier this week, having played 415 performances (and counting) at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th St). And that wasn't the end of the festivities this week. Just yesterday, the creative team (Tony Award-winners Jeanine Tesori, Lisa Kron, and Sam Gold) gathered at Sardi's to receive their very own portraits and BroadwayWorld was there for the big day!
FUN HOME had a history-making first year, becoming the first Broadway musical by women to win the Best Musical Tony Award and the first Broadway musical with a lesbian protagonist. Within the year Fun Home has been on Broadway, they've celebrated the Supreme Court's triumphant decision on marriage equality, became the first Broadway musical to perform on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," welcomed U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power and 17 UN Ambassadors from other nations, and more.
Based on Alison Bechdel's best-selling graphic memoir, Fun Home features music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Lisa Kron and direction by Sam Gold, whose work on this production earned them Tony Awards for Best Score, Best Book and Best Direction. Fun Home is currently playing to sold-out crowds at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street), and was was the first Broadway show of the 2014-2015 season to recoup financially, doing so in only eight months.
