New ideas. New Projects. New ways of understanding the world. Park City Institute presents Mark Anderson, Strategic News Service's Global Report publisher and tech-economy expert, as the inaugural speaker in the 2013-2014 "Future in Review" series. The evening, Ideas into Actions: The Joy of Finding Planet-Scale Solutions, takes place today, December 13 in the intimate Black Box Theater of Park City's Eccles Center; 7:30p.m. Tickets are $25.

"We are honored to launch our new speaker series with Mark Anderson - a brilliant thinker and doer whose grasp of economy, technology, education and science propels us not merely to discuss the issues of the future, but also to take positive action," says PCI executive director Teri Orr.

Mark Anderson's SNS Global Report (www.stratnews.com), "the world's most reliable source of advanced information at the intersection of technology and the economy," is read by the likes of Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Paul Allen and Paul Jacobs. He is also the founder and chair of the Future in Review (FiRe) Conference (www.futureinreview.com), named "the best technology conference in the world" by the Economist.

Selected by FORTUNE as one of the "100 Smartest People We Know," Anderson has earned an international reputation for his contributions in areas as diverse as technology, education, computing, economics, genetics, physics, and medicine. In addition to his regular appearances on National Public Radio, the BBC and elsewhere, his work is currently published in the Financial Times and Forbes, and is covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and many other publications. As a global expert on the Chinese national business model, and as Founder and Chair of the INVNT/IP Global Consortium, Anderson has briefed The White House and Cabinet-level ministers in Australia, the US and the UK on economic security issues.

Ideas into Actions: The Joy of Finding Planet-Scale Solutions will set an optimistic tone describing SNS' international team effort to achieve positive global outcomes. Sharon Anderson Morris, Director of SNS Programs and FiReFilms, will interview Mr. Anderson. The evening concludes with a question and answer session with the audience.

PCI's new partnership with the innovative Strategic News Service will allow the Park City, Utah-based, non-profit organization to introduce the community to some of the world's greatest minds and ideas. Upcoming "Future in Review" speakers also include: Award-winning filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg, acclaimed for his work capturing breathtaking, time-lapse images of nature, on January 31, 2014; Larry Smarr, founding director of Calit2 (UCSD), renowned for his breakthrough experiments in self-diagnostics and identifying solutions for the future of healthcare, on March 7, 2014; and scientist Roger Payne, best known for his work on ocean health and whale behaviors, on April 18, 2014.

Park City Institute presents Strategic News Service Founder and CEO Mark Anderson as the inaugural speaker in the 2013-2014 Future in Review Speaker Series in the Black Box Theater of The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts (1750 Kearns Blvd., Park City).
