Love Out Loud, the first feature film from New York-based filmmaker John Sylva, will have its first live reading headlined by a cast of celebrated actors from the worlds of theater, television, and film on Monday, July 13 at The Creative Center at MTC Studios at 7:30pm EST in Manhattan.

The cast features both emerging and well-established acting talents including Max Lichtig (Phantogram's "Don't Move" and Plain White T's "Should Have GONE to Bed" music videos, currently appearing in Santa Monica-based Creating Arts Studios' Chicabarent), Graci Carli (national commercial and promo campaigns including USA's "Suits," the National Football League, and Burger King, as well as a number of comedic shorts featured on The Huffington Post and Funny or Die), Matthew-Lee Erlbach (off-Broadway's Handbook for an American Revolutionary and Till the Break of Dawn, the 2011 independent feature Another Earth), Helen Coxe (Broadway's Side Man, TV's "The Knick"), Alex Mandell (currently making his Broadway debut in Hand to God, Sleep No More, and Washington D.C.-based Studio Theatre's production of Bad Jews), Allyson Morgan (founder and Executive Director of the film and theatre collective F*It Club, TV's "The Americans" and "Inside AMY Schumer," also serving as producer and casting director for the night's reading), and Drew Lewis (of the Ensemble Studio Theatre, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, and the Calliope Theatre Company, where he also serves as a co-founding artistic associate).

In Love Out Loud, Sebastian (Lichtig) explores the triumphs and tragedies of love during his first year in New York City with longtime best friend Sadie (Carli) by his side. On his journey to put a troubled past behind, Sebastian discovers a world of temptations he never imagined possible growing up in the Midwest. He strikes up a complicated romance with a spirited stranger named Dylan (Erlbach), who teaches Sebastian lessons about forgiveness and love he never thought possible - but trouble quickly arises as Sebastian realizes a complicated relationship of Dylan's own might jeopardize everything.

While navigating the exciting, dangerous new world he's found himself in, Sebastian also meets a mysterious, tantalizing neighbor named Louis (Mandell) and a group of new eccentric friends ( Morgan and Lewis). As the year whirlwind year passes him by, though, Sebastian realizes the Big Apple may ultimately threaten the relationships he holds dearest - with Sadie, his mother Catherine (Coxe), and, most importantly, with himself.

Ohio-born John Sylva's most recent credits include When I Live My Life Over Again, starring Christopher Walken, Amber Heard, and Kelli Garner (and a world premiere at this year's Tribeca Film Festival) and Fathers and Daughters, starring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, and Jane Fonda, to be released this fall. He'll next join the team of Denis Villenueve's sci-fi drama Story of Your Life, starring AMY Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker, currently shooting in Montreal. Sylva previously managed the marketing, distribution, and delivery teams at FilmNation Entertainment (The Imitation Game, The Bling Ring), as well as serving on the programming team of IFP (the Independent Filmmaker Project), where he helped shepherd the development of dozens of independent feature films.

His short film I Remember, also starring Carli, screened at several national film festivals, including the Lower East Side, Big Apple, and Hell's Kitchen Film Festivals and was also showcased by the prestigious Norwood Club in New York during an annual celebration of local independent filmmakers. John received his BFA in Motion Picture Production from Wright State University. Love Out Loud is his first feature film and is scheduled to shoot in the spring of 2016 in New York City, with several cast members from the reading set to reprise their roles.

The live reading of Love Out Loud is free and open to the public. RSVP is required at http://loveoutloud.splashthat.com.
