NBC Ranks #2 with Encore Broadcasts of CHICAGO FIRE

NBC ranked #2 for the night among the Big 4 in most key measures (and tied for #1 among those nets in adults 18-34) with three encore telecasts of "Chicago Fire," which averaged a 0.6/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET, a 0.8/1 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m., and a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m.

The 9 and 10 p.m. "Chicago Fire" encores grew versus their lead-ins in 18-49 and total viewers.

The 9 p.m. "Chicago Fire" encore ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in most key measures and tied for #1 in adults 18-34 (with a 0.5 rating), while ranking #1 outright among those networks in men 18-34 (0.5).

The 10 p.m. "Chicago Fire" rebroadcast ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in most key categories and tied for #1 in adults 18-34 (with a 0.5 rating).


In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/5 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/3 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week of Dec.22-28:

NBC has won the primetime ratings week of Dec. 22-28 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and every other key demographic, with "Sunday Night Football" ranking #1 among primetime programs on those nets in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure.

According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.6 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall for the week. NBC led among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. In adults 18-49, it's NBC's 11th victory in the season's 14 weeks to date.

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" rated #1 among Big 4 primetime programs for the week in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.

Joining "Sunday Night Football" among the week's top 30 primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 were Monday's "Saturday Night Live Christmas" encore (tied for #9), the Christmas Eve rebroadcast of "It's a Wonderful Life" (tied for #16), Friday's "Dateline NBC" (tied for #21) and Monday's "State of Affairs" (tied for #27). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

For the season, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. In adults 18-49, NBC ranks #1 by a +12% margin (with a 2.8 rating vs. a 2.5 for #2 CBS).

In total viewers, NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 1% of its year-ago average (9.6 million vs. 9.7 million), making this season and last NBC's two top-scoring seasons in total viewers at this point since 2006. This season and last also mark the first two times since 2003 that NBC has ranked as high as #2 in total viewers at this point.
