Kristoffer Lowe, winner of the 2014 MetroStar Talent Challenge, headlines the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, in a special prime-time engagement beginning September 22. The world premiere of "You're Getting to be a Habit with Me: The Songs of Harry Warren" plays a four-show major engagement through December 29.

A relative newcomer to cabaret when he scored his impressive MetroStar win last year, the tall and willowy Lowe also reached high by earning the 2015 Bistro Award for special achievement, and the 2015 MAC Award for New York debut. Prior to this sudden rise, the singer from the South toiled mostly in regional theatre as a member of the chorus in a succession of musicals.

Directed by the multi-award-winning singer, director and producer Lennie Watts, "You're Getting to be a Habit with Me" explores American composer Harry Warren, who, surprisingly, had more hits on the hit parade than Irving Berlin. Despite Warren's prolific success, name-brand celebrity eluded him, which only endears him to Lowe, an Alabama native who understands the challenges of being an outsider, and of being listened to if not exactly heard. This time the composer once referred to as "the invisible man" will be seen and heard as Lowe's lush tenor, with its expansive harmonic flavors, gives the author of "At Last," "Serenade in Blue," "You'll Never Know," and "42nd Street" his long-awaited due. Music director Tracy Stark on piano leads a 3-person combo that includes Tom Hubbard on bass, and Jonathan Kantor on reeds. Watts also directed Lowe's debut, "Waiting for the Light to Shine," seen just prior to MetroStar at Don't Tell Mama in June of last year.

Opening for Lowe will be his MetroStar co-finalists David LaMarr (1st runner-up) and Joanna Morton Gary (2nd runner-up), who will perform short sets on alternating nights.

"You're Getting to be a Habit with Me: The Songs of Harry Warren" performs Tuesday September 22 at 7pm; Friday October 23 at 9:30pm; Sunday November 15 at 7pm, and Tuesday December 29 at 7pm. There is a $20 music charge and a two-drink minimum. For reservations call the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues), at 212/206-0440 or to order online visit www.metropolitanroom.com
