On Friday, May 22 at 7:30pm at the Tenri Cultural Institute of New York (43A West 13th Street) in the West Village, Voice Afire Pocket Opera & Cabaret will present a special Evening of Words, Wine & Music which will feature a series of live musical performances from The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra's Milan Milisavljevi? on Viola, Juilliard's Jennifer Chu on Piano, as well as a Chilean Wine Tasting led by The Metropolitan Opera's Chief Librarian, Robert Sutherland.

Tickets are $20 in advance online at www.VoiceAfire.com, $25 at the door. The wines on May 22 will be supplied by Wines of Chile (221 Centre St, NYC).

The evening will begin with the Tasting of Chilean Wine at 7:30pm, followed at 8pm with a musical concert with THE BOOK OF QUESTIONS (music by Ray Luedeke, text by Pablo Neruda), INFANTA MARINA (by Vincent Persichetti), DARK AND QUIET (by Daniel Godfrey), and IF YOU FORGET ME (music by Ray Luedeke, inspired by the Pablo Neruda poem).

Performers for the evening are The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra's Milan Milisavljevi? on Viola, Juilliard's Jennifer Chu on Piano, Caroline Stinson of the Lark Quartet on Cello, Jered Egan of The Westchester Philharmonic on Double Bass, and Laura Gilbert of The Auréole Trio on Flute.

The wine reception will begin at 7:30pm on Friday, May 22, with the live musical performances beginning at 8pm, all taking place at the Tenri Cultural Institute of New York (43A West 13th Street). Tickets are $20 in advance online at www.VoiceAfire.com, $25 at the door.
