LOST'S Daniel Dae Kim to Star in 3AD & Das Films' ESCAPING NORTH KOREA

3AD, the CBS-based production company founded by actor/producer/director Daniel Dae Kim (LOST, Hawaii Five-0), has enlisted up-and-coming writer, Rosalind Ross, to pen a script for a feature film adaptation of Escaping North Korea: DEFIANCE and Hope in the World's Most Repressive Country from author and speaker Mike Kim. Ross most recently worked at the EL REY NETWORK with the action series Matador. Lioness, her feature film script about a secretly gay U.S. Marine serving in Iraq, is currently in development with Ellen Page set to star.

3AD will partner with producer Sriram Das' Das Films (November Man) to develop Escaping North Korea. The 2008 memoir chronicles Kim's first-hand account of a high-risk mission to lead a group of refugees over the North Korean border through Southeast Asia using a modern day "Underground Railroad." Over the course of his four years in Asia, he would end up aiding thousands of people of all ages find safe HAVEN through his heroic humanitarian missions. Actor Daniel Dae Kim (no relation) is attached to play Mike Kim.

Also attached to 3AD's Escaping North Korea is producer Chris S. Lee who serves as the founder and co-CEO of Be Funny Studios, a Seoul-based digital studio established in conjunction with Funny or Die. Haroon Saleem (Chronicles of Narnia, Into the Forest and An Ember in the Ashes) will Executive Produce the project.
