In her native Scandinavia, Karin Krog is a household name - she began singing jazz in Norway in the 1960s. Her repertoire blends originals, traditional jazz, pop standards and experimental vocalizing. She has recorded with Dexter Gordon, Archie Shepp and many ECM artists. She will be accompanied at Joe's Pub by pianist Steve Kuhn - with whom she recorded her 1974 classic We Could Be Flying. "She effectively transplants [songs] from the Deep South to some other, slightly fantastical terrain....It's an amazing feat of vocal interpretation, presenting the human voice as a tool for musical & narrative abstraction and Krog as a formidable artist," said Pitchfork.

Known as the "Jerry Seinfeld of France," Gad Elmaleh is the voice of Barry B. Benson in the French version Bee Movie. The son of a mime, Elmaleh rose to fame in France with his autobiographical 1997 one-man show, Décalages. In 2000, he cemented his reputation in French comedy with his second one-man show La Vie Normale. His prolific career in French film and television includes notable performances starring opposite Gerard Depardieu in 2004's Ole! and opposite Audrey Tautou in 2006's Priceless. Elmaleh came to the attention of American audiences in 2011, with roles in both Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin. In 2013, Elmaleh appeared as a guest on Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Jeff Franzel is an accomplished songwriter and jazz pianist who has accompanied artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Mel Torme. He has also written hit songs for Josh Groban, Placido Domingo, Temptations, 'Nsync, Dianne Reeves, Shawn Colvin and Taylor Dayne. Franzel is a Yamaha artist and recently recorded a solo piano album at Oscar Peterson Hall in Montreal. He performs improvisation in addition to jazz and pop standards, and is currently arranging and playing piano for a Billy Joel Country Tribute album. Franzel recently opened for Esperanza Spalding at the Deer Park Jazz Festival with the Anna Wilson Group. Last winter, he accompanied Lady Gaga in preparation for her Oscar performance of the Sound of Music Medley.

Dixie McCall's Patterns for Living kicks off a yearlong retrospective, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mx Justin Vivian Bond's prolific and trailblazing career as a performing artist. This presentation, a revival of v's cabaret, debut features accompaniment by Kenny Mellman, Thomas Bartlett and Matt Ray on respective weekends. Mx Bond and longtime collaborator Kenny Mellman brought Dixie, their first official collaboration, to the (pink) spotlight on September 9, 1990 at Athens By Night, a hole-in-the-wall Greek restaurant in San Francisco. The show laid the groundwork for what became the pair's legendary signature act "Kiki and Herb," and ultimately created the blueprint of every Mx Bond show to date.

Celisse Henderson is thrilled to be returning to Joe's Pub, after her engagement in Bridget Everett's Rock Bottom, with an evening of her own groundbreaking solo material. From songs of love and blues on the piano and guitar, to songs of joy on the ukulele, with some spoken word on the side, Henderson shares her gifts on multiple instruments and pairs it with her soulful vocals to create an evening of musical magic. She recently returned from an acclaimed tour Live from the Heartland with Matt Alber. She is also known for her work in the Broadway Revival of GODSPELL at Circle in The Square Theater and her work on The Electric Company. Henderson recently released a live EP entitled Celisse LIVE @ Rockwood Music Hall, which is available on iTunes.

Growing up in South Jersey before moving to South Georgia with her Jewish mother from the Bronx, Ali has always had a knack for finding herself in...situations...Well, the buck stops here! Be a witness as she hilariously recounts all of the ridiculously awkward moments that have gotten her to this point. Ali's creamy vocals will take you on a trip back to a simpler time when the music was good, the drinks were strong, and the bad choices you made were just a vague memory from last night's binge!

Women of Letters is everyone's favorite literary salon! Every month, New York's best and brightest women come together on stage to celebrate the lost art of letter writing. For the October installment, expect laughter, tears, and camaraderie as host Sofija Stefanovic welcomes guests reading "a letter to my 80-year-old self." The lineup is Kathleen Turner, Lisa Kron, Mara Wilson, Margaret Colin, Susannah Cahalan and Elyssa East.

Jomama Jones returns to Joe's Pub with celebrated pianist Samora Pinderhughes, a stellar band, vocalists Laura Jean Anderson and Kelly Erin Sloan, and a few very special guests to investigate the heart of our matter. Singing original songs from her forthcoming album, Flowering, composed with Bobby Halvorson, and brand new compositions with Dylan Meek, and Samora Pinderhughes, Jomama will explore the signs and signifiers found in the darkest part of the night that send us toward the blush of dawn. Pinderhughes's searching and motive arrangements will call the flowers to blooming. This night? Black Light!

Australian cabaret performer Kim David Smith conjures the glitter and doom of Weimar-era Berlin with Stargazing, a genre-mashing, disco-cabaret fantasia. Italian singer/pianist/songwriter Chiara Civello returns to New York with "Canzoni" (Songs), the contemporary Italian songbook as never heard before. On Canzoni, her fifth studio album (Quarter Moon/Sony Music), Chiara has gathered an extraordinary array of collaborators: the monumental Gilberto Gil, the poetic Chico Buarque, the pop diva Ana Carolina and the jazz star Esperanza Spalding all lend their artistry to the project. The lush, almost hypnotic orchestral arrangements were conceived by the legendary Eumir Deodato. DJ/Producer Nicola Conte provided an alluring blend of contemporary sensibility and old school analog sound. The result is a celebration of love songs which looks out from Italy to the entire world.
