ImprovBoston resurrects its annual blood-soaked Halloween show, GoreFest, with an original musical production that puts the audience in the middle of the carnage and promises to deliver blood, guts, and buckets of laughter. This "ponchos recommended" splatter musical is an immersive comedy experience audience members can see, smell, touch and taste (for better and for worse).

Now in its 13th year, this October's installment is aptly titled GoreFest the Thirteenth and takes audiences back to summer camp where friendships last forever... or until someone dies. Audiences are sure to enjoy musical numbers, accidental dismemberment, and occasional fight scenes between serial killers and summer campers.

An annual tradition with a cult following, ImprovBoston's GoreFest features a darkly comic musical penned entirely by the GoreFest creative team with popular past titles including Cirque du Slaughté, Macabr-et, and Slaughterhouse on the Prairie. ImprovBoston's GoreFest is part campy, part Broadway, part haunted house and all hilarious.

Nate Lopez, director of GoreFest the Thirteenth, says, "summer camp, especially theater camp, can be an incredibly transformative experience for young people - add blood and guts and it's certain to leave a lasting impression." His talented cast of local comedians and actors are ready to take the stage and dish out laughs until they meet their untimely often hilarious deaths.

GoreFest the Thirteenth runs from October 22 - October 31 at ImprovBoston. Tickets are $25, $18 students at the door. For a full list of shows and times, visit improvboston.com/gorefest. Follow the bloody tweets @IBGoreFest.

GoreFest the Thirteenth features a book by Don Schuerman and Matt Chapuran, music by Steve Gilbane, and lyrics by Don Schuerman and Steve Gilbane.

The cast includes Molly Borque, Jocelin Weiss, Will Martin, Nolan Murphy, Lauren Robinson, Bryan Smith, Brittany Perro, Matt Fear, Kara Gelormini with Ensemble players Robert LaMouthe, Alden Masters, Nick Stevens, Meg DiMaggio, Danielle Szymaszek.
