The 8th Annual Boston Comedy Arts Festivalbrings together over 300 improv, sketch, standup and musical comedians from across the country for a five day festival in Cambridge, MA. This year's festival runs from Sept 7 - 11 and features performances at the Cambridge Public Library's state-of-the-art 300 seat theater in addition to ImprovBoston's two home theaters in Central Square.

Headlining acts in this year's festival include Kids in the Hall's Kevin McDonald, nationally-touring comics Aparna Nancherla (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Inside Amy Schumer) and Jenny Zigrino (Conan, @Midnight, Adam DeVine's House Party, Bad Santa) and comedian Jonathan Katz (Comedy Central's Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist). The festival also features performances by award-winning improvised hip hop troupe, North Coast and one of New York City's comedic mainstays, The Magnet Theater. In addition to the more than 100 acts featured in over 35 shows, the festival offers comedy workshops for visiting artists and a panel discussion featuring industry talent scouts, headlining talent and more.

ImprovBoston Artistic Director Mike Descoteaux shares, "We are amped up to welcome some of the best and most experimental comedy from around the world alongside New England's top talent. Audiences will have the chance to take in sketch comedy by the Utilidors from Toronto, a home-grown musical about Boston's own dreaded moving day called It's Allston Christmas, Charlie Town, an improvised sitcom from Chicago, the champion of Boston's StandUp ThrowDown Jiayong Li, and a completely improvised one-woman opera from New York." Descoteaux adds "And for those of us who would rather soak up every last laugh than catch up on sleep, we'll cap the festival off on Saturday at 10pm with the AllStar Traveler's Jam, an epic improv set featuring performers from every out-of-town cast at the festival."

The 2016 Boston Comedy Arts Festival runs September 7-11 at ImprovBoston and the Cambridge Public Library. Tickets range in price from Free to $25 and are available at http://bostoncomedyarts.com.

ImprovBoston produces the festival through partnerships with Downeast Cider, Women in Comedy Festival, Eventbrite and the Cambridge Public Library.
