Crown Media Family Networks and Best Friends ANIMAL Society announced today they have formed a unique partnership to raise the profile of June's Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month and spotlight the thousands of homeless kitties in shelters across the country. Every day throughout the month, beginning Monday, June 1, Hallmark Channel's Emmy-Nominated daytime lifestyle program Home & Family (Monday-Friday, 10a - 12p ET/PT, 11C) will feature special segments hosted by pet rescue advocate, Suzanne Browning, that will highlight a different cat or kitten from Best Friends' Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills. The initiative will also include social media efforts to engage viewers, allow them to share stories about and pictures of their own shelter cats, and establish a forum for a public dialogue around pet adoption. Happy the Cat, a rescue himself and official feline ambassador to Hallmark Channel's Pet Project, will be the face of the month-long stunt and will make a special appearance on Home & Family.

"We are honored that Best Friends ANIMAL Society has agreed to partner with Hallmark Channel's Pet Project around Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month and feel that Home & Family is an ideal national platform to educate the public about the importance and rewards of adoption," said Michelle Vicary, EVP, programming & network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. "The majority of the nearly 4 million perfectly healthy and loveable pets that are needlessly euthanized each year are cats and kittens and it is our hope that this campaign will make a difference by mobilizing people to visit their local shelters and give these wonderful animals the forever homes they so deserve."

"We're so grateful for the opportunity to let Home & Family show viewers know that there are thousands of amazing cats and kittens waiting at a local shelter or rescue near them. Adoption isn't just convenient and cost-effective, it's a great way to make a big difference, as getting cats out of shelters and into homes is crucial to our country becoming no-kill," said Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends ANIMAL Society - Los Angeles. "By working together, we can save them all."

Home & Family features not only the best in lifestyle advice, but also plays host to some of Hollywood's biggest stars and most exciting music acts. Recent guests that have visited include; Melissa Etheridge, James Brolin, Naomi Judd, Wolfgang Puck, Tony Robbins, Billy Ray Cyrus, Betty White, Dean Cain, Tori Spelling, Olivia Newton-John, Alison Sweeney, Kevin Nealon, Maria Shriver, Jaclyn Smith, Moby, Christina Applegate, Russell Simmons, Jackie Collins, La Toya Jackson, Florence Henderson and Rocco DiSpirito. The series reaches viewers' homes from its own 2,800 square foot working home at Universal Studios.

Woody Fraser is the creator of Home & Family. Marty Tenney is the executive producer and Bob Levy is the director of Home & Family from Woody Fraser Enterprises. Home & Family is broadcast in 1080i, Hallmark Channel's selected HD Format. This program carries a TV-G parental guideline.
