Emmy-winning comic Greg Fitzsimmons and the Tempe Improv will generate more than laughs when Fitzsimmons plays at Tempe Improv this month. They'll also be generating important funds for Save the Family Foundation during the 7:30 p.m. performance on April 28.

Tempe Improv generously donated 125 tickets to Save the Family, which is selling the tickets at $15 each, $5 less than if purchased through the Improv's box office. All proceeds from these ticket sales will benefit Save the Family and its programs.

Tickets include a VIP voucher for two for an upcoming Tempe Improv show. For tickets please visit http://savethefamily.org/events/comedy-night-at-tempe-improv-to-benefit-save-the-family/ or contact Michelle Boyd at Save the Family (480.466.7714), mboyd@savethefamily.org.

New York-born Fitzsimmons, who won four Daytime Emmys as a writer and producer with The Ellen DeGeneres Show and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien will also be performing at Tempe Improv on Aug. 29 and 30.

Fitzsimmons began his stand-up comedy career while attending Boston University. He was part of the Ellen DeGeneres team for two years before moving on to write for Louis C.K.'s sitcom, Lucky Louie. He also was a frequent guest on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satellite Radio. His writing credits also include Cedric the Entertainer Presents, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, Chelsea Handler Show and The Man Show.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Save the Family, which provides transitional and low-income housing units for families across the Valley working to become self-sufficient for a lifetime.
