Full Cast Announced for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at the Lyric Hammersmith

Full casting has been announced for the Lyric Hammersmith and Filter Theatre Production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, co-directed by Sean Holmes and Stef O'Driscoll. Jonathan Broadbent, Ed Gaughan, John Lightbody, Victoria Moseley and Ferdy Roberts return to the cast and they will be joined by Hammed Animashaun, Andrew Buckley, Clare Dunne and Cat Simmons.

The production runs 19 February through 19 March. Press night is slated for 25 February 2016.

Following the production's critically acclaimed run in 2012 at the Lyric Hammersmith, this riotous reinterpretation of one of Shakespeare's best loved plays returns for four weeks only. Featuring music from The London Snorkelling Team performed by Chris Branch and Keith de Barra, this classic tale of young lovers and warring fairies is given a unique and irreverent twist.

Andrew Buckley's theatre credits include Saints and Superheroes (Battersea Arts Centre/UK Tour); Carver (Arcola Theatre); Fat Hamlet (Loitering with Intent); Pinocchio (Wilde Theatre) and Dreams of Anne Frank (Contraband Theatre Company). Andrew is well known for his role in Skeletons, in which he starred alongside Ed Gaughan. Further film credits include His Heavy Heart, The Hoarder, Jimmy's End, Closer To The Moon and All Is By My Side.

Clare Dunne's theatre credits for the Lyric Hammersmith include Three Sisters. Clare recently appeared in Henry IV for the Donmar Warehouse/St Ann's Warehouse. Her other theatre credits include Grounded (Tiger Dublin Fringe); 24 Hour Plays, Major Barbara (Abbey Theatre); Julius Caesar (Donmar Warehouse/St. Ann's Warehouse) and Detroit, Juno & The Paycock (National Theatre). Clare has also appeared on film in The Cherishing, Outside and Monged. Radio credits include On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Ed Gaughan's theatre credits for the Lyric include Herons, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Island and Radioplay. Other theatre credits include The Birthday Party (Royal Exchange); The Shed (Fuel/London Snorkelling Team) and Masque of the Red Death (Punchdrunk). Ed is also known for Skeletons on television, which was nominated for a BAFTA award. Ed is a consultant and director for UK comics Josie Long and Milton Jones.

John Lightbody's theatre credits for the Lyric include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ghost Stories and Three Sisters. Other theatre credits include Microcosm (Soho Theatre); Treasure Island (Theatre Royal Haymarket); Richard III (Southwark Playhouse); As You Like It (National Theatre), as well as numerous productions for the RSC and West Yorkshire Playhouse. John has also appeared on film in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.

Victoria Moseley's theatre credits for the Lyric Hammersmith include A Midsummer Night's Dream and Water. Other theatre credits include Beyond Caring (National Theatre Shed/The Yard); Macbeth, Faster (Filter); From Morning to Midnight, His Dark Materials (National Theatre); The Simple Things in Life - winner Herald Angel Awards 2011 (Fuel); Twelfth Night (Filter/ Tricycle). Victoria has also appeared on screen in War Horse Prom, What You Will, Doctors, Merseybeat, The Whistle Blower, Mindblowing and Jo-90.

Ferdy Roberts is Co-Artistic Director of Filter Theatre and an Artistic Associate at the Lyric Hammersmith. Ferdy's theatre credits for the Lyric Hammersmith include Three Kingdoms, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Three Sisters and Water. Ferdy's Filter credits include Macbeth, Twelfth Night (Tricycle); The Caucasian Chalk Circle (National Theatre) and Faster (London/New York). Ferdy has also appeared in Lampedusa (Soho/Hightide); Shakespeare In Love (Noel Coward) and Wallenstein (Chichester Festival Theatre). His film and television credits include What You Will, Mr Nice and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

Cat Simmons' theatre credits include Hopelessly Devoted (Tricycle Theatre/UK Tour); Whistle Down The Wind (Aldwych Theatre); Simply Heavenly, Been So Long, Arthur Darvill (Young Vic) and Coming Home (Arcola). Cat is well known for her role as DC Kezia Walker in The Bill, and for starring in Family Affairs as Scarlett Anderson.

Filter is led by actors Oliver Dimsdale and Ferdy Roberts, and composer Tim Phillips and they have been creating innovative, exciting theatre since 2003. Filter has produced several interpretations of classic texts: Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Lyric Hammersmith, Manchester Royal Exchange and a UK Tour (2012); Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle for the National Theatre (2006); Shakespeare's Twelfth Night for the RSC and the Tricycle Theatre (2007); Chekhov's Three Sisters for the Lyric Hammersmith (2010); and most recently Macbeth at the Tobacco Factory Theatres and UK Tour (2014/2015).

Sean Holmes is Artistic Director of the Lyric Hammersmith and has most recently directed Herons and Bugsy Malone, which re-opened the Lyric following a multi-million pound redevelopment. Sean also directed four shows as part of the theatre's two-year programme of Secret Theatre. He is currently directing Sean O'Casey's The Plough and the Stars at the Abbey Theare, Dublin as part of their centenary programme. In 2010 he revived Sarah Kane's Blasted at the Lyric and the production was awarded the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. His other directing credits for the Lyric Hammersmith include Cinderella, Morning, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Saved, Ghost Stories, Three Sisters and Comedians. Sean has also worked for the National Theatre and RSC, as well as the Royal Court, Donmar Warehouse, Tricycle, Chichester Festival Theatre and Abbey Theatre, Dublin.

Stef O'Driscoll is Associate Director at Paines Plough and former Associate Director at the Lyric Hammersmith. She was Associate Director on Henry IV for the Donmar Warehouse/St Ann's Warehouse. Her directing credits include With a Little Bit of Luck (Paines Plough/Latitude); Hopelessly Devoted (Paines Plough/UK Tour); Finding Home (Roundhouse); A Tale from the Bedsit (Roundhouse/Bestival); A Guide to Second Date Sex, When Women Wee (Edinburgh Fringe/Soho); No Longer I (Public Theatre/New York); Yard Gal - winner Fringe Report Awards for Best Fringe Production 2009 (Oval House). Stef was Associate Director for Mogadishu at the Lyric Hammersmith and also worked there as Assistant Director on Blasted, which won an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre 2011.

Hyemi Shin's design credits for the Lyric Hammersmith include Herons, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Morning, Secret Theatre, and as Costume Designer on Desire Under the Elms. Hyemi's other theatre credits include Sizwe Banzi is Dead, Dirty Butterfly (Young Vic); Viriditas, No 1 Convergence (Rambert); Life's Witness (Linbury Studio Theatre) and Unearth (The National Ballet of Canada). Hyemi was the overall winner of the 2011 Linbury Prize for Stage Design.
