Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig have announced that the hit musical Kinky Boots celebrates its three-year anniversary on Broadway today, April 4, and is now that the longest running show to ever play the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street), a record previously held by the original production of The Man of La Mancha.

The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, and opened to rave reviews on April 4, 2013.

Last night, the West End production of Kinky Boots won three Awards, including Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Matt Henry), and Best Costume Design (Gregg Barnes).

To help celebrate this milestone, Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein will also be honored with a double star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, April 11.

Kinky Boots tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling business. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, the unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. The Grammy Award-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is available on Sony Masterworks Broadway.

In addition to the Broadway and West End productions of Kinky Boots, the show is currently touring the country on its First National Tour, and is playing an extended run in Toronto at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. An Australian production is set to open in October 2016 at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne.
