Mondisa Monde Productions has announced the world-premiere production "Eyes and Ears: The Musical," a musical that brings together deaf and hearing performers. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays, today, April 17 through 25, 2014 at 6 pm and Saturdays April 19 and 26, 2014 at 12 pm. Saturday performances are followed by a talk back. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at gorillatango.com/bucktown or by calling 773-598-4549.

"Eyes and Ears: the Musical" features contemporary music and dance ranging from jazz and gospel to R&B and hip hop. The plot centers around the struggles of a deaf artist growing up without his mother and his mother's simultaneous search for her son. An ensemble of dancers highlights the trials and tribulations of their journey, and interpreters for the deaf will be featured at every performance.

Mondisa Monde Productions is led by performer and director Mondisa Monde; "Eyes and Ears: The Musical" was written by ensemble member Austin McKenzie.
