Disney's FROZEN Tops 41st Annual Annie Award Nominations

Nominations for the 41st Annie Awards have been announced. Topping the list with 10 nominations each are Disney's Frozen and Monster's University. Following in a close second with 9 nods each are "Despicable Me 2? and "The Croods".

The award's ceremony will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus, hosted by thesp Patrick Warburton.

Opening in 3,742 locations across the country, Frozen opened to $66.7 million over the three-day weekend, making it the second-highest weekend ever for a movie opening out of first place. For the five-day period, the Disney animated picture earned an estimated $93 million, a new record for a Thanksgiving opening ahead of Toy Story 2 ($80.1 million). The film now surpasses 2010's Tangled, which took in $68.7 million over the same five-day period.

Despite some new competition opening late in December, Frozen is expected to remain the first choice for family audiences during the holiday period.

Walt Disney Pictures' FROZEN features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Santino Fontana and Alan Tudyk and original songs from Tony winner Robert Lopez ("The Book of Mormon," "Avenue Q") and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ("In Transit," "Winnie the Pooh"), and an original score by Christophe Beck ("The Muppets," Oscar-winning short "Paperman").

In the big-screen comedy adventure FROZEN, fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an Epic journey--teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven--to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.
