Controversial French Comedian, Dieudonne, Denied Entry to UK

French comedian, Dieudonné M'bala M'bala (known as the stage name "Dieudonne") has been banned from entering the UK because of his controversial remarks.

Several of his stand-up shows in France have been cancelled because they are said to incite racial hatred and anti-Semitic sentiment.

He was traveling to Britain to visit soccer player, Nicolas Anelka, who made a hand gesture called a "quenelle," an upside-down Nazi salute, in a match on Dec. 28. Anelka faces disciplinary action from the English FA because of the gesture.

Dieudonne invented the gesture and says that it is not anti-Semitic but anti-establishment.

The order states that "If he travels he will be denied entry at the UK border." Anyone carrying him into British territory faces a fine of up to £10,000 (around 12,000 euros).
