From Los Angeles, CA to New York City, NY, furloughed government workers can see the improv comedy show, ComedySportz, absolutely free in any of the 23 cities where it is offered both domestically and internationally* until the United States federal government is reopened.

For contact information for the nearest theater performing ComedySportz, furloughed workers and all who wish to laugh with them should check www.comedysportz.com.

"While the Government Shutdown has created hardship for many of us, we can all use a positive outlet to channel this frustration. If you are a government worker affected by the shutdown we invite you to attend a ComedySportz show no matter where you are in the country," says Christine Walters, a manager for the ComedySportz show in Richmond, VA, and the spokesperson for the Laughter is Essential program.

*The overseas producers of ComedySportz are also participating in this promotion to support the U.S. diplomatic core and other civilian workers affected in Europe
