Cabaret on the Hudson Series Continues at the Irvington Town Hall Theater 

Cabaret on the Hudson Series continues on April 9 at the Irvington Town Hall Theater.

The performance will be held on Sunday, April 9 at 3pm. Cabaret on the Hudson is a series that features three outstanding cabaret performers or small groups, each bringing a 25 minute sampling of their New York City cabaret shows to Westchester, NY. Many of the performers are Broadway veterans and have performed in New York City venues such as Feinstein's/54 BELOW, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, Birdland, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Iridium, the Metropolitan Room and Jazz at Lincoln Center to name a few. Cabaret on the Hudson will be hosted by multi-nominated Cabaret singer and host of the Music at the Mansion series, Corinna Sowers Adler and will feature Tracy Stark on piano.

Cabaret on the Hudson will feature Valerie Lemon, Warren Schein and Carole Demas. Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 at the door.

Valerie Lemon has performed across the country as a concert soloist for award-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch. Their 12-year association resulted in Hamlisch writing a solo act for her that she has performed around the globe. Lemon collaborated with Eric Michael Gillett on Valerie Lemon Sings Music by Marvin Hamlisch, which debuted at the Metropolitan Room in November, 2008 to rave reviews. In 2009, she appeared at Feinstein's to a standing-room-only audience and returned in 2010 with Hamlisch as her "special guest." Lemon has been featured in numerous tribute performances to Hamlisch, and is a seven-year veteran of The Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention where her work has honored Hamlisch, Vernon Duke, and Sheldon Hardnick.

Valerie was honored to speak about Hamlisch in the PBS American Masters 2013 special, Marvin Hamlisch, What He Did For Love, and is part of Len Prince's exhibit and book, Marvin Hamlisch. She was also asked by Hamlisch's widow to become an ambassador to schools, teaching children about Hamlisch's book, Marvin Makes Music. Lemon has created two cabaret shows: The Way of the Heart, a more personal account her life, and The Jane Froman Song Book which celebrates the life and music of Jane Froman, legendary singer of the 30's, 40's, and 50's. In 2007, Lemon performed the centennial celebration of Froman's life in Froman's home state of Missouri and returned for another show in 2016 and taught a master class on cabaret. Singer and comedian Warren Schein, nicknamed "The Velvet Mist," has been touring and performing on stages from New York to Florida to Los Angeles for over three decades. Schein has appeared in films such as The Stepford Wives, Cinderella Man and Specter along side notable names like Russell Crowe and Al Pacino. On stage, he has played lead singing roles in many stock and Off-Broadway performances including the role of Igor in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. On television, Schein has had featured roles in Royal Pains, Boardwalk Empire, Saturday Night Live and Castle. He is also a voice-over artist for television and radio; his work has included the Pillsbury Dough Boy and the Lucky Charms Leprechaun. He has recorded for such well known advertisers as The History Channel, Nickelodeon, WPLJ Radio, AMC, M&M's and A&E. Carole Demas' prolific 56-year career includes her creation of "Sandy" in Broadway's classic ORIGINAL Grease - along with thousands of leading roles on and off-Broadway (including two years as "Luisa" in The Fantasticks, NYC) and regional theater. Demas originated The Baker's Wife title role in LA, and was the beloved star of iconic children's TV show The Magic Garden. Demas guest starred on classic TV dramas including Kojak, Mannix, and Barnaby Jones, with recurring roles on Edge of Night, One Life to Live and As the World Turns. She was a recent guest star in Blue Bloods and Allegiance, and has appeared in numerous feature films including The Disappointment Room in 2016.

Demas starred in PBS's Showstoppers - The Best of Broadway. In addition to hundreds of live family concerts, Demas has performed at venues such as Feinsteins/54 Below, The Metropolitan Room, Laurie Beechman Theater, Birdland, New World Stages, Le Poisson Rouge, and The Iridium. Her one-woman show in NYC and other locales received rave reviews that cited her as "a powerhouse of musical theatre;" her voice has been described as "shimmering and thrilling with great warmth, sweetness and surprising power." Pianist/Arranger/Conductor/Singer/Songwriter, Tracy Stark is an eight-time MAC Award winner (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) in the categories of Music Director, Song of the Year, and Piano Bar Entertainer. She is also a Bistro Award winner for Musical Direction, and winner of Cabaret Hotline's Songwriter of the Year Award. Stark has worked with Lesley Gore, Phoebe Snow, Karen Black, RAndy Jones (Village People), Sarah Dash (LaBelle), Barb Jungr, Brenda Braxton, Eric Millegan (Bones), Tonya Pinkins, and hundreds of other rock, jazz, and broadway vocalists. She stays busy creating and music directing 75-100 different shows per year. Series hostess, singer/actress Corinna Sowers Adler is the Founding Artistic Director of NiCori Studios & Productions. Corinna was honored be a 2015, 2016 and 2017 nominee for the first ever Tony Award for Excellence in Theater Education. Ms. Sowers Adler made her Jazz at Lincoln Center debut on the Rose Theater stage as a featured singer at the 24th Annual Cabaret Convention and appeared again in the 25th and 27th Annual Cabaret Convention presented by The Mabel Mercer Foundation.

Before moving to the New York City area in 2009, Ms. Sowers Adler served for ten years as the director of theater for the Wilkes University Conservatory, where she grew a program from its inception to a roster of nearly 1,000 students. For four years she also held the position of artistic director of children's theater at the Historic Pocono and Bucks County Playhouses, directing and casting more than 40 shows each season. She recently debuted a new solo show in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center entitled, Something Beautiful which garnered her rave reviews from the Huffington Post.
