Bill Cosby, Chelsea Handler Among Talent Set for Netflix's Upcoming Stand-Up Comedy Slate
Netflix announced four new exclusive stand-up comedy specials today, joining the previously announced October 10th Chelsea Handler 1-Hour comedy special, "Uganda Be Kidding Me Live" on Netflix's upcoming roster of original comedies. Jim Jefferies, Bill Cosby, Bill Burr, and Chelsea Peretti join the diversified slate of original stand-up comedy specials airing in all territories where Netflix is available.
"Jim Jefferies, Chelsea Handler, Bill Cosby, Bill Burr and Chelsea Peretti are some of the funniest comedians of our time who will have our viewers in stitches," said Lisa Nishimura, Vice president of original documentary and comedy programming at Netflix. "We are thrilled to bring this diverse slate of talent and their unique, multi-faceted and hilarious points of view exclusively to our members around the world."
Netflix will exclusively premiere Jim Jefferies' stand-up comedy, "Jim Jefferies: BARE," at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Friday, August 29. Filmed live at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, Jim Jefferies is back and fired up as ever in his newest comedy special. No one is safe from Jim's hilarious and shocking observations about politics, new fatherhood, orgies and Neil Diamond. The show follows Jefferies' successful live, international "Day Streaming Tour" and is a follow up to his three previous stand-up performances: "Jim Jefferies: Alcoholocaust," "Jim Jefferies: Fully Functional," which is currently streaming on Netflix, and "Jim Jefferies: I Swear to God" available on Netflix DVD. Additionally, the first season of Jefferies' comedy series "Legit" is now streaming on Netflix. "BARE" is executive produced by Jim Jefferies, Lisa Blum and Michelle Caputo.
Chelsea Handler headlines her first stand-up special exclusively for Netflix at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Friday, October 10 in "Uganda Be Kidding Me Live," the culmination of Handler's wildly popular international stand-up comedy tour in support of her fifth New York Times #1 Bestseller, Uganda Be Kidding Me. Using personal photos to enrich her stories and comedy, Handler regales the audience with absurd tales of her global travels and the ridiculous characters in her life, all the while offering her signature unabashed opinions on subjects ranging from her expectations of sexual partners, to the very real problem of dolphin rape. "Uganda Be Kidding Me Live" is executive produced by Chelsea Handler, Tom Brunelle and Brad Wollack.
