Tony Award nominee Michael McElroy, founder and director of the Broadway Inspirational Voices, will be headlining -- along with the choir -- the special event INSPIRATIONAL BROADWAY at B.B. King's on Monday, February 15. The event supports BIV's Outreach Programs, which provide inspiration and music to youth in need and children in underserved communities.

In honor of the upcoming performance, McElroy took a moment to reflect on five performances he finds personally inspirational. BroadwayWorld brings you his selections, from Barbra Streisand to Lady Gaga, below!

As a performer, McElroy's Broadway credits include BIG RIVER, RENT, THE WILD PARTY, THE WHO'S TOMMY, MISS SAIGON and HAIR.

Broadway Inspirational Voices is a diverse choir of Broadway artists united to change lives through the power of music and service. Their mission is provide hope and inspire and transform youth in need through music and the arts. In addition to numerous concerts, the Grammy nominated choir has performed with major artists such as Mariah Carey, Sting, Elton John, Vanessa Williams, Heather Headley and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. BIV has been featured on "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Rosie O'Donnell Christmas Special," multiple Tony Awards telecasts, "Smash" and "America's Got Talent."

Shirley Bassey
"This Is My Life"

Really any video featuring live performances by Shirley Bassey. The power of her voice. It's almost relentless. You have to pay homage though because she's still doing it. I stand amazed.

Lady Gaga
"Bang Bang"

The sheer brilliance of this performance. From the outfit, to the performance, to the voice. She channels the power and energy of the great performers of a bygone era. It's so deep and she's so in that character. It's obvious that she respects and has studied the greats.

Judy Garland
"Cottage For Sale"

The level of raw honesty and soul baring is what we as artists aim for. There is not a dishonest moment in this performance. From one of our greatest voices, the acting is the most important thing. Her performance breaks me down.

Barbra Streisand

"Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered"

Young Barbra Streisand. To see her at the beginning of her career. This voice is a gift and her instincts as an actor so strong and so connected to the voice. It's so effortless and yet fully connected.

Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin
"We Like To Hike"

I grew up loving Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin movies. It was one of the things that bonded me and my older brother. This choral piece from You're Never Too Young was one of my favorites. I loved harmonies when I was young and Jerry Lewis was comedy genius.
