The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) will return to Piedmont Park to perform three free concerts this summer as part of the Bank of America and Merrill Lynch present "Performance on the Promenade" concert series on June 11, 18 and 25, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.

The performances will take place on The Promenade at Piedmont Park - located in the northwest corner of the park. This is the third performance in as many years; when the ASO performed at The Promenade in May 2013, it marked the Orchestra's first appearance in the park since 2007.

This year's concerts will be led by ASO Assistant Conductor Joseph Young. The June 11 concert will include Dvo?ák's Slavonic Dance No. 7 and Symphony No. 8, movement IV, Bizet's "Danse Bohemienne" from Carmen, and much more. The June 18 concert will feature Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld Overture, Ravel's Pavane and Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite. The June 25 concert will include selections from Elgar, Grieg, Anderson, Falla, Brahms, and more.

The Atlanta Symphony's history at Piedmont Park dates back to its initial performances in 1976 with Robert Shaw. Since then, the ASO has performed more than 100 concerts in the park, bringing free live symphonic music to the greater Atlanta community.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has a long and wonderful history of performing at Piedmont Park," said Terry Neal, Interim CEO & President of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. "These outdoor concerts are a beloved Atlanta tradition and we are honored to once again partner with Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and the Piedmont Park Conservancy to bring back this series in June."

"The free ASO concerts have become a much anticipated kickoff to summer. We are so pleased to once again partner with the Symphony to bring back these wonderful performances to Piedmont Park," said Piedmont Park Conservancy President and CEO Mark Banta. "There is no better way to spend a summer night in Atlanta than by enjoying great classical music in Atlanta's most beloved green space!"

"Performance on the Promenade is one of Atlanta's most anticipated summer events," said Geri Thomas, Georgia state president, Bank of America. "At Bank of America, we create connections with people and cultures through the powerful, common language of art, in all of its forms. Please join us this June as we celebrate the beautiful music of the ASO in the backdrop of Piedmont Park."

Admission is free to the public, but tickets for general admission seating are required. Tickets for the June 11 performance will be available on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.; tickets for the June 18 performance will be available on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.; tickets for the June 25 performance will be available on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. A maximum of six tickets per person can be reserved online at ticketmaster.com.
