Apollinaire Theatre's THREESOME Begins Today

Apollinaire Theatre Company presents THREESOME by Yussef El Guindi, directed by Danielle Fauteux Jacques and featuring Alison Meirowitz, Mauro Canepa and Geoff Van Wyck.

An Egyptian-American couple, Leila and Rashid, invite a complete stranger, Doug, into their bed in this provocative drama about a woman trying to reclaim her body and her story after an attack in Eqypt during the Arab Spring.

Performances of THREESOME begin today, April 8, and continue through May 7, 2016 Fri. & Sat. at 8:00, Sun. April 24 and May 1 at 3:00. Press Night: Saturday April 9, 8:00. Yussef El Guindi's most recent productions include Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World (winner of the Steinberg/ American Theater Critics Association's New Play Award in 2012; Gregory Award 2011; Seattle Times' "Footlight Award" for Best World Premiere Play) at ACT, and Language Rooms (Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award, as well as ACT's New Play Award). Born in Egypt, raised in London and now based in Seattle, El Guindi received a B.A. from American University in Cairo and an MFA in playwriting from Carnegie-Mellon University. He frequently examines the collision of ethnicities, cultures and politics that face Arab-Americans. He has had at least 16 plays produced since 2001 in regional theaters from Durham to Anchorage. At the same time, he has worked as resident playwright at Silk Road Theatre Project; literary manager for Golden Thread Productions in San Francisco; playwright in residence at Duke University; and dramaturg for Eureka Theatre in San Francisco.

Apollinaire Theatre Company stages passionate plays at their elegantly restored theater in the Chelsea Theatre Works, as well as New England's only bilingual free summer theater in the park.
