American Candy to Celebrate 5th Anniversary with New Live Show
AMERICAN CANDY celebrates its FIVE YEAR anniversary with an ALL new sketches in its latest live show, AMERICAN CANDY Racialicious! AMERICAN CANDY has become one of New York City's most popular sketch groups by giving its audiences edgy comedy and clever songs examining sex, race, class, pop culture and calling out hypocrisy in our society.
After running a successful online fundraising campaign with 220 individual donors, AMERICAN CANDY is in the midst of shooting a series of 30 sketches, three of which will premiere at the live show. Audiences this June will be the first to see the start of this hilarious web series. After June, these sketches will roll out every two weeks on AMERICAN CANDY's YouTube channel and their website.
AMERICAN CANDY defies the stereotype that all comedy is created and enjoyed by young white men. With a multi-cultural cast and team of both female and male writers, the material has a wide appeal. Past themes have included Politics As Usual, The History of Sex, The Super 70s, The Wild, Wild West and Back to School. AMERICAN CANDY has an energetic troupe of talented actors and a strong base of writers and directors and is fast becoming a comedy institution in New York City.
Performances are at the beautiful state of the art Actors Fund Arts Center. The theatre is conveniently located at 160 Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Show times are 8pm on June 27 and 28 and at 3pm on June 29. Doors open 45 minutes early for an open bar reception.
With a $25 ticket price that includes a pre-show OPEN WINE and CHAMPAGNE BAR, AMERICAN CANDY is the best entertainment value in New York City! For more info, visit www.americancandynyc.com.
